'Paul Emard is Tambourine Man'
is the story of the legendary Paul
Emard, a mentally disabled 55 year-old man who has spent the last 35
years of his life playing tambourine with the University of
California, Davis Marching Band-uh.
Like most people, Paul knows what he wants out of life: family, friends, love and happiness. But with his family 1,000 miles away and no love in sight, Paul finds himself torn between his future and the present.
Relying heavily on archival images, film and audio, "Paul Emard is Tambourine Man" unravels the story of Paul's life, the band that has become his family, the memories he loves so dearly, and the ongoing mental conflict between his wants, needs, and dreams."

About the Band-uh!:
"The California Aggie Marching Band-uh! is one of the proudest, most
spirited, feared, and loved organizations on the UC Davis campus.
Since its establishment in 1929, the Aggie Band has been committed to
representing the University and supporting the UC Davis campus and
athletic teams. The band is made up entirely of students who volunteer
their time; no class credit, scholarship, or pay is provided to any of
the 200+ members. The band entertains thousands of spectators at well
over 100 performances each year with their combination of traditional
and contemporary rock music.
As one of the few completely student-run marching bands in the country, a council of twelve student officers conduct rehearsals, create shows, schedule performances, manage the budget, coordinate travel, repair instruments and uniforms, maintain the music library, and represent the band. Serving on the officers' council offers members the opportunity to gain valuable leadership and real-world decision making experience. The band also has oversight from a faculty director who advises the officers' council and conducts the band at some public events. The band is very proud of its student-run status, as it is an important part of what makes the organization unique"
